Kivanc Oner

Kivanc Oner was born in Istanbul, Turkey. He had his musical training in T.R.T Conservatory of Istanbul. After graduating from high school he decided to resume his studies in the United States and moved to the Nation’s Capital.
Soon after graduating from college, he started working for Swissotel chain.
As a part time musician, he was performing gigs in downtown D.C.
He introduced Turkish music with Spanish flamenco and became one of the pioneers of this fusion. He created a unique sound and immediately began receiving recognition.
D.C night scene was the ideal spot light for this experiment. Together with Ricardo Marlow, he produced his first album 'Azul y Blanco'. The album was a huge success and opened him the doors to many elite venues such as; Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Amphitheater at Ronald Reagan Building, Washington Convention Center. They also performed at The U.S Capitol, World Bank and White House.
In 2002, he founded Andromeda Music Productions.
He then began preparing an album in his native language, Turkish. During the final stages of the production he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system. Unfortunately, the disease did not respond to initial therapies. (details at Lymphoma) Currently he is organizing benefit concerts and raising funds for children with Leukemia. His upcoming album will be ready in September 2007.
